History of the house:

In the year 1847, King Friedrich Wilhelm IV. founded the the "Central-Diakonissenhaus, Bethanien", a house for deaconesses, in Berlin. It was a huge complex with a hospital, a church, a training centre for nurses and nursery teachers and a pharmacy.
Friedrich Wilhelm IV. gave around 2500 talers to build a recreation centre for the deaconesses in Heringsdorf. Since the 29th of July 1859 the house has his name "Königsgabe" -- the present of the King.

About seven deaconesses were able to have a recreation break here.
